The Multimodal Logistics Summit 2022

Introduction

India Seatrade is delighted to host The Multimodal Logistics Summit 2022 on Friday 4 March, 2022 at Radisson Hotel Kandla, Gandhidham, Gujarat. The highly successful first edition of this landmark event was organized in Kochi in 2013.

The recent policy developments in the form of Maritime India Vision-2030 and the draft National Logistics Policy, lay emphasis on strengthening of multimodal logistics infrastructure in India. Various industries like steel, cement, POL, food grains, ceramics and tiles among others use multimodal transportation services for moving their products from the production centres to consumption centres.

Draft National Logistics Policy urges the central and state governments to undertake hard interventions to develop multimodal logistics infrastructure to ensure higher logistics efficiencies and reduced costs in the long run. It also stresses on more private participation and key tax-related interventions in this regard.

The Multimodal Logistics Summit 2022 will bring to the fore exemplary thought leaders and key people from all modes of freight transportation including Sea, Road, Rail and Air under one roof to successfully meet and network with the latest logistics and supply chain solution providers in order to improve their businesses in the post-pandemic era by finding new ways of moving their products more efficiently.

This summit will provide the opportunity for the first time ever, to hear both the shared and nuanced perspectives of multimodal logistics modernization across the key vertical sectors, including cargo owners and logistics service providers.

Introduction

Cargo Connexions Conclave 2020; a MUST attend Conclave for businesses who trade domestically and internationally, export or import products and / or are looking to set-up operations or establish a base.

India Seatrade and Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) have partnered together to bring the Cargo Connexions Conclave, a unique, market specific event that brings together various stakeholders on to the single platform. The event will be an effort to address the various challenges confronting our cargo, logistics and shipping industry and to lay a road map for a well established logistics infrastructure and services that will add immense value to the last mile connectivity and end users.

OBJECTIVE – Cargo Connexions Conclave gives a new definition and direction to the whole exercise by bringing shipper onto the centre stage.

The 2020 Cargo Connexions Conclave will provide information and insights that cargo owners can use to plan and execute shipments of containerized cargo through south Indian ports. At their core, the Event creates value for beneficial cargo owners — including retailers, manufacturers, consumer product firms, engineering, textile industry, energy and agribusiness organizations— through intensive programming that addresses key operational, pricing, and strategic challenges shippers face when leveraging end-to-end container shipping services to support their supply chains.

CCC – Bringing the Change

This half day conclave aims achieve the dual objectives of knowledge sharing and rewarding excellence on single platform. The conclave engages industry stakeholders from all verticals and policy makers to brainstorm on cost-effective and efficient supply chain management. The conclave facilitates meaningful and focused interaction among all the stakeholders to bridge the gap and progress together, while strengthening India’s logistics infrastructure. Karnataka Ports, Shipping Logistics Summit

Days
Hours
Minutes
Seconds

Introduction

Ports being harbingers of trade and commerce play an important role in the economics of the region. Further Ports are of remarkable service importance since they act as a place for interchange of two transport modes; maritime and land whether by rail or road. The essential aspects of the port lie in its inter-model nature.

Ports and related land based logistic chains face major challenges from growth in trade. Different ports face different challenges. Ensuring adequate capacity and reconciling various parties’ interests is important for all ports. Ports and related land-side logistics chains are critical to the competitiveness of regional/national businesses, which rely on them to deliver imports and to take exports to the global markets. Improvements to ports and related logistics sectors can remove barriers and transaction costs to trade, increase competition and provide vital linkages to domestic and global value chains.

As a result, the performance of ports and land-side logistics chains are critical to facilitate innovation, productivity gains and economic growth both regionally and nationally. Hence it is important to have a coordinated approach in planning future development and in scaling existing port and freight infrastructure to advance its logistics performance.

Further, upgrading of the logistics performance of a region should not be reduced to mere investment in physical infrastructure and application of ICT, but also to regulatory and procedural issues regarding global shipping and international trade and to the management of ports and related infrastructure. Better logistics performance can create benefits in terms of trade expansion, economic diversification and also attract investment.

While the central government has developed port infrastructure across the country, and in many cases through private participation, states too now have become active in developing their coastlines.

Karnataka Ports Shipping & Logistics Summit 2019 is an effort to bring together the maritime stakeholders of the region, the state and from across the country to present the potential that exists, to deliberate on the challenges being faced and to evolve the way forward for a larger, inclusive and sustainable growth of the maritime industry in Mangalore and the state as a whole.

This half a day conference, spread across three focused sessions will engage policy makers, industry leaders, experts and stakeholders in serious discussions on meeting infrastructure and service demands; on ways to strengthen existing cargoes and to generate and attract additional cargo and derive ways for a collective and integrated approach that would enhance value in the logistics network and greater economic success to the region.
